Bellflower – 132

Designed by Cap Sease

This wrap sweater is ideal for wearing over a camisole on warm spring days or cool summer nights. It can be worn as a vest, or if you prefer, small cap sleeves make it perfect for warding off evening chill. The wrap style allows for a flexible fit.

Aria Tunic – 198

Designed by Suzy Allen

Suzy Allen is a self-taught indie designer who loves working with local yarns. She is inspired by the natural world around her. When she saw the cherry Simply Fine she knew exactly what she wanted to design – a tunic with a fresh air feel! Falling leaves, her favorite boots and a pumpkin spice latte was her inspiration for Aria.

Amanda’s Romance – 109

Designed by Eric Robinson during a cross country train journey (and what could be more romantic than that?), this versatile wrap is designed for adventurous knitters who want to try their hand at lace. Cropped, hip-length or even longer, this raglan slip-on is elegant in Sylvan Spirit, Alpaca Elegance or Cotton Comfort.

Alpine Lace Shell – 108

Designed by Maureen Clark

For lovers of lace knitting, the shell features a deep but delicate border inspired by Barbara Walker’s design of the same name. A simpler lace borders neck and sleeve, contrasting nicely with the smooth stockinette body. Our original model in Luminosity Sylvan Spirit is fit for a bride; the second model, in Cotton Comfort, is equally appealing.

Bulky Mittens – 53

A simple cable pattern worked back and forth using large needles and a double strand of worsted-weight yarn. Sew up the sides and – voila! – they are ready to wear in a jiffy.

Bumpity Mittens – 156

Designed by Cap Sease

The corn on the cob stitch makes a thick, dense fabric that will keep your hands warm all winter long. Its deep texture is deceptive, making it look like four colors are used instead of just two.

Double Knit Mittens – 145

Designed by Cap Sease

These are actually mittens inside of mittens. Although the double knitting is slower than regular knitting, your hands will thank you for the extra effort when they are toasty warm all winter long. And a bonus – there is no right or left, so you can wear them on either hand.

Eric’s Glovelets – 87

Local designer and musician Eric Robinson created these whimsical and functional quick-to-knit wrist warmers to wear in her chilly piano room – necessity was the mother of invention. Now you can have warm hands and a warm heart while you work or play.

Lodestar Mittens – 188

Designed by Amy Christoffers for Green Mountain Weekend

Amy, whose business is “Savory Knitting”, has designed many savory things for our cold Vermont winters. She designed these warm mittens knowing that our weekend weather can be unpredictable – we’ve had plenty of snow at both our October and March weekends. Amy came to Putney in the fall of 2012 to teach students how to design their perfect sweater, using lace or other stitch patterns.
