Our mittens are warm, long wearing and comfortably flexible. Claire Wilson, one of the Spinnery founders, designed this basic pattern and knit the first pair in Mountain Mohair. She wore them daily through five long winters before re-knitting the thumbs. Firmly knit on Size 2 dp needles . Try some bold color experiments. An intermediate pattern.
Sizes: Child – Toddler (Medium, Large); Adult – Small (Medium, Large)
Finished Measurements: (around hand, above thumb opening)
Child – 5 (5½, 6½) in / 12.5 (14, 15) cm
Adult – 8 (9, 10) in / 20.5 (23, 25.5) cm
Gauge: 25 sts over 4 in / 10 cm
Yarn Requirements: Mountain Mohair, Weekend Wool or Green Mountain Green –
Child – 1 (1, 2) 2 skeins; Adult – 2 (2, 2) skeins
Needles: double pointed needles, size 2 US / 2.75 mm
